In this Screen printing on Cloth workshop, you'll screen print on cotton bandanas using simple cut out stencils and textile inks. You will learn how to create your own stencils, mix the textile inks, and print your design(s) on bandanas. There will be several precut stencils to try too. The instructor encourages a playful attitude, experimentation and over layering of prints to create rich surfaces. Participants should expect to be delighted and surprised by their printing efforts. Four new bandanas are included in the workshop fee; additional bandanas can purchased during the workshop (or participants can bring pre-laundered light-colored natural fiber fabrics and/or clothing). No prior experience necessary, but articipants must be able to use an xacto knife to cut out a shape on acetate, pull a squeegee by hand and stand for several hours while printing.
