In this workshop, participants will learn how to make a beautiful, hardbound blank book using contemporary techniques that date back hundreds of years. We will learn how to sew a text block using the French link stitch and create and attach a hardcover case with a reinforced spine. Additionally, we will make our own personalized bookcloth from a selection of fabric samples. All materials are provided, but participants may bring a small piece of their own cotton or linen fabric to turn into a useful piece of paper-backed bookcloth. No experience in bookbinding necessary.
