THE BOOK ARTS INSTITUTE

The International Printing Museum’s Book Arts Institute offers a variety of hands-on workshops for adults who seek to engage creatively with the world of printing, book arts, paper arts, and more.

Whether you’re a novice or an expert, our instructors provide a well rounded set of skills, experience, and information.


TOURS, FIELD TRIPS AND SCHOOL ASSEMBLIES

The International Printing Museum offers exciting field trips for K-12 classes, homeschoolers, scout troops, and groups of all ages. Enjoy guided tours, meet Ben Franklin virtually, reenact the Constitutional Convention, and try hands-on printing activities!

Can’t visit? We'll bring the Museum on Wheels to your school, library, or event.

COLLECTION HIGHLIGHTS

Gutenberg Printing Press

German metallurgist Johannes Gutenberg is considered the “Father of Printing” for his efforts to revolutionize relief printing through the invention of movable metal type in Mainz, Germany during the mid-fifteenth century. Crafted in the 1990s, the Museum’s replica is a crowd-pleaser on every tour.

The Printing Museum is open for drop-in tours on Saturdays, 10am to 4pm, except during special events or youth programs.

The Museum is open Tuesday through Friday, 10am to 4pm,
by advance reservation only.
