Volunteers of all types are what make the International Printing Museum work and come to life for all of our visitors. We would love to have you join us, no matter your background, age, or skills. There is a place for everyone!

We realize that different volunteers have different needs. That’s why we have two categories of volunteers. The first is our Leather Apron Docent Guild, volunteers who come in once a month for a meeting and usually on many Saturdays when they are available. These volunteers are more specialized and are trained in more specific volunteer tasks such as tours, printing, physical collections or facility needs.

The second group is our Event Volunteers, which requires a lower time-commitment of volunteers. They help with special events when we need the most volunteers, or on occasional Saturdays.

Whether you can only donate your time a few times a year or a few times a month, we would love to have you come and join us! We are grateful for all our volunteers do.

EVENT VOLUNTEERS

Interested in helping out with special events at the Museum? The museum needs extra volunteers on big days like the Los Angeles Printers Fair, our Summer Wayzgoose Celebration, and our holiday events. Event volunteers can help with check-in, set-up, tours, food service, and demonstrations. Help us match your volunteer interests with the needs of the Museum by filling out our Volunteer Event Interest Form.

THE LEATHER APRON DOCENT GUILD

The Leather Apron Guild is the Museum’s core group of volunteers. These volunteers keep the presses running, give tours, organize the warehouse, and perform the vast variety of tasks needed to keep the Museum going and help make it the popular venue that it is. Join and you get an apron, free lunch on Docent Saturdays, and lots of camaraderie. And you’re learning something new all the time!

Museum Docents and Volunteers meet the 1st Saturday of every month at the Museum, from 10am-4pm and work on a variety of projects depending on skill and interest. Lunch is provided. Come join our growing team.

If you’re interested in joining the Leather Apron Guild, please fill out the Leather Apron Docent Guild Application, or contact the museum directly. Be sure to join our Volunteer Group on Facebook for updates.
