SCOUT MERIT BADGE DAYS IN 2024:
Saturdays: Feb 17, Apr 20, June 22, Aug 24, Sep 21, & Nov 16

BSA Merit Badge Day is designed for scouts to complete all of the requirements of two merit badges in one day: Graphic Arts MB and Pulp & Paper MB. BSA Merit Badge Day at the Printing Museum is definitely a not-to-miss event for scouts in Southern California!

During the course of BSA Merit Badge Day, which runs from 9 am to 3 pm, teams of scouts will rotate among various activity stations, which explore every aspect of the printing and paper industries, from offset lithography and screen printing to digital design and how the paper industry manages and uses their forests. Each scout will have a chance to screen print their own t-shirt, run an offset press, grind pulp, make a sheet of paper, and letterpress print a card on an antique press. The day is filled with hands-on activities like these, plus detailed presentations given by industry experts and educators.

The Printing Museum offers six Merit Badge Days each year. ADVANCED REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND. The fee for the Merit Badge Day is $65 per scout, which covers most activities; participants must provide their own t-shirt and lunch. For questions, please contact the Printing Museum.

Cancellation Policy: Refunds must be requested in writing at least 14 days in advance of the event. Date change requests must be made in writing at least 7 days in advance of the event; only one date change request per ticket, please. Date change requests made less than 7 days in advance of the event will incur a $30 service fee. Please direct all inquiries to ipm@printmuseum.org or call 310-515-7166.

The Graphic Arts and Paper Merit Badge Days at the Printing Museum are made possible from the generous support of PIA (The Printing Industries Association), which underwrites a significant portion of the costs of this program.
