PRINTING & BOOKBINDING WITH CYANOTYPES

DATE: Saturday, July 9
TIME: 10 am to 3 pm (includes one hour lunch break)

INSTRUCTORS: Lorna Turner & Madeline Helland

COURSE FEE: $100

CLASS SIZE: 8 Students

This class combines the art of cyanotype printing with bookbinding. Cyanotypes are vibrant blue prints that can be made with a simple combination of chemicals and sunlight. During the class, students will learn how to treat paper and fabric with a light sensitive solution in a dark room and then use sun exposure, found objects and transparencies to create one of a kind prints. After the prints are finished, the class will cover ways to turn cyanotypes into books and other mediums beyond a flat print.
