Why the Museum Needs and Deserves Your Support
The Printing Museum partially operates with income from its educational and institutional activities, such as admissions fees. But fully two-thirds of its budget annually is funded by generous donations from corporate and individual donor Friends of the Musuem around the country and world. Only through our donor base can we meet ongoing financial needs and keep the Museum’s activities growing..We call on every supporter of printing history and the book arts to participate in making the International Printing Museum a permanent reality and help us carry out our educational, preservational, celebratory and research missions.
- Educating: Our award-winning educational programs reach 25,000 school-age children annually and teach valuable lessons about American history, science, and the entrepreneurial spirit that has been instrumental in the advancement of the graphic arts.
- Preserving: the Museum now has the most significant collection and display
of working antique printing equipment in the United States; as one of only
three such museums in the country, its mission has national significance. - Celebrating: the Museum’s exhibits and collections celebrate every major technological change in the graphic arts from 800 AD to the present digital age, from Gutenberg’s development of the printing press in 1450 to the rise of lithography in the 20th century and the digital technologies of the 21st century.
- Researching: The Museum’s Research Library on Printing History, containing nearly 7,000 volumes on the history of printing and printing technologies, is open to and used by scholars from around the country.
Become a Member even if just at the Basic level, and not only will you sustain the Museum’s vital mission, but you will also receive our newsletter, special Museum keepsakes, discounts and members-only invitations to Museum events.
