The Surgeon Factory Book

Greetings One and All,

I have finally finished letterpress printing a 267 page, Linotype-set book on an antique Miehle Vertical.

It’s a great story written by my beloved uncle, Ken Rascoe, M.D., about his years as a surgery resident at Los Angeles County Hospital. The book was produced on equipment from the Ernest A. Lindner Collection of Antique Machinery and printed by volunteer Docents of the Leather Apron Docent Guild.

The Surgeon Factory revolves around the author’s days as a surgery resident and written in a semi-autobiobiophical, fictionalized way.

The softbound edition is on sale now in our gift shop for a $25 donation. Contact me directly at whitsonetal@socal.rr.com to order your copy or email Gary at the museum at gary@printmuseum.org.

The book was a labor of love and we at the Museum hope that after purchasing the book you will be inspired to print your own biography or perhaps a loved one’s.
