I was born and raised in Prague, Czech Republic. I studied at Charles University in Prague and received a dual degree in mathematics and visual art. At that time I was introduced and captivated by the graphic arts. While raising my children, working full time as a teacher, and after immigrating to the United States with my husband and four children in 1984, my interest in art was limited to my spare time. I began to take up art again once my family responsibilities dwindled down. Besides oil painting, watercolor painting, and drawing, I was excited to revive my interest in the graphic arts from my college years. I have practiced my skills and further explored printmaking largely on my own. I equally enjoy working with the intaglio technique as I do with the monotype. I like to combine the centuries old techniques of intaglio with the plain elegance of its flowing line work with various contemporary printmaking techniques. In this year 2010 I earned a membership into Los Angels Printmaking Society and was juried into the Santa Barbara Printmakers.
