John Hedlund, Printer 1927 — 2016

John Hedlund, Printer, with Ben Franklin & his wife Virginia

For 20 years, John Hedlund served as a dedicated Trustee of the International Printing Museum. He was passionate about people, about education, and about giving back to his industry and community. From very humble beginnings, John worked his way up through the printing industry to eventually running one of the largest companies in Los Angeles, California Offset Printers in Glendale. John was a leader in the Printing Industries Association both locally and nationally, served his communities through his Rotary Clubs and as a board member of the Salvation Army.

To have known John was to be his friend; he was a giant of a man and not just in his stature. During his 20 years with the Printing Museum, he helped the Museum to raise funds to secure its current building and expand its educational programs to thousands of students annually. In his honor, we have created THE JOHN HEDLUND EDUCATION FUND which will further the museum's educational programs through tours, activities, classes, and the Museum on Wheels program that John loved so much.
