<h3>Saturday, August 14th 10 am to 4 pm</h3>
<p>A day-long celebration of Wood Type at the Printing Museum, co-sponsored by the Southern California Chapter of the American Printing History Association. At 12 noon, a showing of the documentary film “Typeface” by Justin Nagan about the Hamilton Wood Type Company, and how wood type continues to inspire artists in a digital age.</p>
<p>At 2 pm, David Shields from Austin, Texas, will give a presentation “ENGAGING ABUNDANCE: The Rob Roy Kelly Wood Type Collection,” one of the premiere collections in the country, now housed at <a href="http://www.utexas.edu/cofa/a_ah/rrk/index.php">University of Texas at Austin</a>.</p>
<p>Throughout the day, you are invited to print keepsakes using wood type from the Museum’s collections, enjoy the Museum’s tours and exhibit “One Hundred Years of Wood Type”. <p>The Museum is offering a uniquely interactive presentation for the general public. Audience members will enter Independence Hall inside the Museum&#8217;s Heritage Theater, and BECOME delegates at the Constitutional Convention of 1787. Dr. Benjamin Franklin and James Madison lead the debate over what might, or might not, go into the Constitution*. Guests will also be able to enjoy special tours through the Museum galleries and a chance to print their own Declaration of Independence on a Colonial printing press. <p>*Reading participants for the Convention must be 5th grade to adult.</p>
